Budget bill deliberations
Dec. 1, 2009.
Bill 202, An Act to Protect our Children from Pornography, passed second
reading on Oct. 1, 2009. The bill has been referred to the
Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills.
On June 2, 2009 MPP Gerry Martiniuk delivered a statement in the
legislature paying tribute to the hard-working volunteers
who organize the Cambridge Canada Day parade.
On April 29, 2009, Gerry presented a 5,000-name petition demanding fair funding for hospitals and funding for the expansion at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
On April 21, 2009 Gerry delivered a statement in the Ontario Legislature regarding fair funding for Cambridge Memorial Hospital and a rally at Queen’s Park by Cambridge citizens concerned about the future of their hospital.
March 25, 2009: MPP Gerry Martiniuk delivered a statement in the Ontario Legislature about the 2009 provincial budget and the long-awaited expansion at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
MPP Gerry Martiniuk presented Bill 137 for second reading on March 5, 2009. The bill proposed that elementary schools have staff trained in the care of children with diabetes. It was defeated by a vote of 26-13. 
On Dec. 3, 2008, Gerry introduced Bill 137, An Act to amend the Education Act to allow pupils with diabetes in schools to receive certain monitoring and treatment.
Dec. 1, 2009. . Gerry questioned the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care about the province’s refusal to cover the cost of a cancer drug for a Cambridge resident
Gerry delivered a statement on Seniors’ Month in the Ontario Legislature
on June 3, 2009. June is Seniors’ Month in Ontario.
On April 29, 2009 Gerry spoke as part of an Opposition Day motion proposed by the Progressive Conservatives Caucus calling on the McGuinty Liberals to develop a health care plan to address growing hospital volumes and deficits, protect
patients’ services and prevent nurses from being fired.
The McGuinty Liberals voted against the motion.
On March 23, 2009 in the Ontario Legislature, MPP Gerry Martiniuk questioned Premier Dalton McGuinty about health-care funding and the long-awaited expansion at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

On Nov. 19, 2008, Cambridge MPP Gerry Martiniuk introduced Bill 128, An Act to protect our children from sexual predators and exposure to electronic forms of sexual material by amending Christopher’s Law (Sex Offender Registry), 2000
